Florida man pronounced dead at scene of motorcycle accident

Summertime presents Americans with many opportunities to get out and enjoy the warm weather. With the nice weather people can also use modes of transportation that expose them to the elements and also increase fuel efficiency. One common type of transportation in the summer is riding a motorcycle.Motorcycles can get an individual to their destination in the same amount of time a car can, but the rider can enjoy the weather and save on gas. Unfortunately, with these savings also comes risk. Motorcyclists are at a much higher risk of an accident turning deadly because they do not have the protections a car does, such as seatbelts and airbags. A fatal motorcycle accident claimed the life of a Florida man on July 11. The crash occurred around 8 a.m. near Wickman Road. The accident occurred when a sedan driver was driving southbound on Wickman Road and the motorcyclist was traveling northbound. The driver of the sedan reportedly tried to turn left into a residential neighborhood right in front of the motorcyclist. The motorcyclist hit the passenger side of the sedan and the motorcyclist was thrown from the vehicle. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the sedan was taken to a nearby hospital. The accident remains under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol and no charges have been filed yet.Motorcyclists are often involved in accidents that are caused by the negligence of other drivers. If this is the case, the motorcyclist may be eligible for compensation for injuries, including reimbursement for property damage, medical bills and lost wages.
