Motorcyclist killed in Florida accident when car turned

The warm climate here in Florida provides for many additional modes of transportation. These can include walking, biking and riding a motorcycle. But any of these types of transportation can lead to dangerous and sometimes deadly accidents. For example, riding a motorcycle can lead to severe injuries and even fatalities. Motorcycle accidents can be serious because they travel at high rates of speed and do not have the safety protections of a car or other motorized forms of transportation. The Florida Highway Patrol are still investigating a crash that occurred Wednesday night between a car and a motorcycle. The motorcyclist was killed in the accident. The accident occurred near Silver Saddle Drive and Blountstown Highway around 9:00 p.m. The driver of the car was in a turn lane on the highway. The motorcyclist was traveling in the opposite direction on the highway. The driver of the car turned into the path of the motorcyclist in an attempt to turn onto Silver Saddle Drive. The motorcyclist attempted to avoid the car by braking and laying the motorcycle down, but he was unable to avoid the collision by stopping and slid into the intersection. The motorcyclist was taken to a nearby hospital, where he died soon after as a result of the injuries that he sustained in the accident. The driver of the car did not report any injuries. The Florida Highway Patrol did report that the car driver was wearing a seatbelt, but did not report whether or not the motorcyclist was wearing a helmet. As this incident shows, many motorcycle accidents involving another vehicle are due to the negligence of the other driver. Some drivers may claim that he or she did not see the motorcyclist. However, motorcyclists are owed the same care and respect on the road as any other car. If the accident is due to the negligence of the other driver, the motorcyclist may be entitled to compensation for his or her injuries or property damage.
